Recognition

The Princeton Review

  • Nazareth College is one of the nation’s best institutions for undergraduate education, according to The Princeton Review.
  • Nazareth is one of only four schools in the nation to be added to The Best 368 Colleges: 2009 Edition.
  • The theatre programing is rated #6 nationally.
  • The Princeton Review features a two-page profile of Nazareth in its annual guide, The Best Northeastern Colleges. The publication says, “Not many schools inspire students to reflect on the role of independence and interdependence in society as much as Nazareth College.”
  • Nazareth College earned a 97 score in the category of Quality of Campus Life.

U.S. News & World Report’s Best Colleges

  • Nazareth has been ranked as one of the Top Tier Northern Colleges and Universities for 11 consecutive years.
  • Nazareth is one of the Best Graduate Schools for Speech Pathology.

Fulbright Scholars

  • During the past decade, 18 Nazareth students and faculty have been awarded Fulbright Scholarships. Two have been awarded Pickering Scholarships as well.

Academics

Campus

  • Situated on 150 acres of beautiful buildings and grounds.
  • 23 buildings, including 11 residence halls, a 2,200-seat stadium and all-weather track, and the five-story Golisano Academic Center.
  • New residence hall, Clocktower Commons, opened in 2008.
  • The Nazareth College Arts Center, which houses the departments of theatre arts, music, and art, has entertained almost three million people since it opened in 1967. The Arts Center underwent a major renovation in 2009.
  • On-campus clinics for speech and hearing, reading, and physical therapy give students practical experience and are also open to the Rochester community.

Athletics

  • 23 intercollegiate athletic teams compete at the Division III level.
  • Nazareth athletes rank among the top 10 NCAA Division III schools nationwide in overall graduation rates.
  • Nazareth’s athletics teams routinely bring home league and NCAA accolades and its student athletes are recognized for being in the top 10% of Division III athletes nationwide for average GPA.
  • In 2007, Nazareth won Empire 8 Conference titles in women’s field hockey and men’s lacrosse.
  • In 2007, swimmer Emily Lesher won a NCAA National title in the 400 Individual Medley.

Alumni

  • Nazareth has more than 28,500 alumni residing in 49 out of 50 states and 38 countries around the world.
  • 93 percent of graduates are either employed or enrolled in graduate school.
  • 81 percent of graduates are working in jobs related to their academic major.
  • 75 percent of graduates participated in a career-related internship prior to graduation and 93 percent reported the experience to be valuable.
  • Nazareth’s six-year graduate rate is 72 percent, while the regional average is 62 percent.
