Alumni stay connected thousands of miles apart.

Alumni stay connected thousands of miles apart.

Is it a bird? Is it a plane? It's...well, actually, it IS a bird!

Golden Flyers are winging across the globe (via the postal system!) to alumni doorsteps as part of the Golden Flyer Challenge. Their mission? To bring the spirit of the purple and gold to those whose classes are being honored at the next Reunion Weekend. People who receive a Golden Flyer can take a picture of it in location, check in on a Google map on the site, and send the Golden Flyer to another reunion classmate. No missed connections for these Naz alumni!

Ever wonder how Nazareth's mascot came to be named "Golden Flyer?"

The College adopted the name in 1977 with the launch of Nazareth's men's basketball. The Nazareth community suggested names benefiting the bird-like symbol that was part of our then-official logo. A committee selected the final name from the three most popular suggestions: "Flyer," "Wings," and "Firebirds." The word "Golden" reflects our colors: purple and gold.
