Transfer Admissions Requirements
Each year more than 200 students will transfer into Nazareth College. We welcome applications from students in good academic standing from fully accredited two- and four-year schools. If you want to take a class as a non-matriculated student, download our non-matriculated application.
The Application Process:
We strongly suggest that all information be submitted in one package in order to expedite the processing and review of your application.
Step 1: Complete Application for Admission
Apply online or download application forms at Universal College Application. Please make sure that all necessary information is completed, including all required signatures.
Step 2: Submit the Application Fee ($40.00 & non-refundable)
Not required for users who submit their application electronically.
Step 3: Send Us Your Official College Transcript(s)
Mailed directly to Nazareth College from your current institution.
Step 4: Provide Current Course Schedule (if available)
Provide a list of current college coursework and grades.
Step 5: Complete Audition or Portfolio Review (Art, Theatre, Music students only)

Step 6: Submit Student Writing Sample(s)
All transfer applicants must submit a minimum of 150 words on the topic:
- "What has influenced you to select your choice of major"
An additional writing sample is required for the following majors:
- Education (minimum 150 words):
From your own experience as a student, describe which attributes of teachers you believe are important and necessary for a teacher to be an effective educator. How will you incorporate these attributes into your career as a teacher? - Social Work (minimum 150 words):
Why do you think you are suitable to enter the profession of social work? - Physical Therapy (minimum 150 words):
Why do you think you are a good match to be a Physical Therapist?

Transfer Credit
- Transfer students who are admitted to Nazareth and who have earned a two-year degree (AA or AS) from a fully-accredited college or university prior to registration are ordinarily granted 60 credits and Junior status.
- Nursing transfer students with an AAS degree in Nursing are ordinarily granted 60 credits and Junior status
- Other transfer students who do not have an AA or AS degree and wish to transfer credits to Nazareth for fully-accredited two- or four-year colleges or universities, or other institutions of learning (foreign, trade, technical, music, art, fashion, and business) will have those credits awarded on a course-by-course basis.
